What is a subdomain ?
A sub-domain (also called redirect or alias) is a part of the Internet address of a website that precedes the domain name.
What use ?
Subdomain is a way to divide your site into sections with short and easy to remember names.
Exemple :
- http://mysite.verygames.net/, my-site is a subdomain.
What are all types of redirects that I can do ?
With the VeryGames's administration panel, you can perform several types of redirects :
- to a VeryGames'games server
- to a VeryGames's voice server
- to a VeryGames's web hosting
- to a website
- to an IP address
- to receive and send emails

In this panel, you will find several buttons :
- Manage my aliases
- Manage operations
- Maintenance
- Manage secondary access
Domain name informations
On your panel, you can see :
- The link to your site followed by its number (ID of your domain name)
- A renew button
- The end date

How can I make a redirect to one of my game servers ?
1. Click on 
2. Select the tab "Add an alias"
3. Choose a sub-domain name
* You can not use an existing name * You can only use the following characters : a to z Numbers 0 to 9 Dash - Point . * It takes at least 1 character except for special Cases
4. Select for my VeryGames game server(s)
5. Select the game server for which you want to create a redirect
- To help you, you can see the ID and the IP of your game server
6. Just click on "CREATE" button
NOTE :
- If there is a problem, a message appears, click again on "CREATE" button.
- If everything is correct, your subdomain is created.
Once you sub-domain if functionnal, you can access your game server by using the "redirect" created DNS alias.
Exemple :
- steam://connect/game.my-domaine.co.uk:27015 will access the game server steam://connect/77.111.201.201:27015
You must indicate the port of the server.
How can I make a redirect to one of my vocal servers ?
1. Click on 
2. Select the tab "Add an alias"
3. Choose a sub-domain name
* You can not use an existing name * You can only use the following characters : a to z Numbers 0 to 9 Dash - Point . * It takes at least 1 character except for special Cases
4. Select for my VeryGames voice server(s)
5. Select the vocal server for which you want to create a redirect
- To help you, you can see the ID and the IP of your vocal server
6. Just click on "CREATE" button
NOTE :
- If there is a problem, a message appears, click again on "CREATE" button.
- If everything is correct, your subdomain is created.
You just have to wait for the DNS servers to be up-to-date over the Internet.
Once you sub-domain if functionnal, you can access your vocal server by using the "redirect" created DNS alias.
Exemple :
- mumble://mumble.mon-domaine.fr:51012 will access the vocal server Mumble ULL instead of mumble://mumble-1.verygames.net:51012

- If everything is correct, your subdomain is created.
You just have to wait for the DNS servers to be up-to-date over the Internet.

Exemple :
- http://www.mon-domaine.us will access to your VeryGames web hosting.
How can I make a redirect to an external website ?
1. Click on 
2. Select the tab "Add an alias"
3. Choose a sub-domain name
* You can not use an existing name * You can only use the following characters : a to z Numbers 0 to 9 Dash - Point . * It takes at least 1 character except for special Cases
4. Select to an external website 5. Enter the URL where you wish the subdomain to point
* Be careful to note the correct address * You must provide a valid address
6. Choose if you want you sub-domain to be transparent or not.
- If you tick this box, your redirect will be "transparent".
You will only see your domain name address in the browser URL bar.
- If you do not tick this box, your redirect will be "direct".
7. Just click on "CREATE" button
NOTE :
- If there is a problem, a message appears, click again on "CREATE" button.
- If everything is correct, your subdomain is created.
You just have to wait for the DNS servers to be up-to-date over the Internet.
Once you sub-domain if functionnal, you can access to your website by using the "redirect" created DNS alias.
Exemple :
- http://www.mon-domaine.fr will access to the website http://my-test-website.website-test.com/a_directory_at_random/
How can I make a redirect to an IP adress ?
1. Click on 
2. Select the tab "Add an alias"
3. Choose a sub-domain name
* You can not use an existing name * You can only use the following characters : a to z Numbers 0 to 9 Dash - Point . * It takes at least 1 character except for special Cases
4. Select to an IP adress
5. Enter the IP adress of the website where you wish the subdomain to point
* Be careful to note the correct IP address in the format IPV4 * You must provide a valid IP address You must configure the server that holds the IP to use your redirect
6. Just click on "CREATE" button
NOTE :
- If there is a problem, a message appears, click again on "CREATE" button.
- If everything is correct, your subdomain is created.
You just have to wait for the DNS servers to be up-to-date over the Internet.
Once you sub-domain if functionnal, you can access to your website by using the "redirect" created DNS alias.
Exemple :
- http://www.my-domain.com will access to the website http://8.8.8.8/
How can I make redirections to send and receive emails?
Preamble
There are many ways to use one's domain name to send and receive emails.
1. First, you must create a Google account to ba bale to use the service: 'manage my domain name'
You can create your account at:
2. When your account is created, you can go to Google Apps:
Google Apps is a platform that can allow you to link a domain name to several services like:
- Instant messaging
- An agenda
- An inbox
- ...etc
3. Just enter the domain name, and click on "Get Started" button 4. Then you have to fill in the questionnaire carefully with your own perosnal information:
- Name
- Surname
- email adress
- Phone
- ...etc
5. Once everything is fully filled in, you'll just have to configure the domain as explained in the next paragraph.
Domain configuration
Here's how to proceed, you need to follow each step carefully otherwise your mail will not be forwarded!
1. Click on "Manage my Aliases"
2. Click on the tab Add an Alias
IMPORTANT: do not fill in the field of the first step, it MUST remain empty
Click straight away on the buttin Validate
3. Select the redirection type to receive and send emails
4. Enter the address that the first redirection must point to:
- aspmx.l.google.com
5. Select the redirection level
- MX 1
6. Click on CREATE
You will again have to create subdomains like this another 6 times.

Now all you have to do is wait for the DNS information to spread properly (meaning 24 to 48 hours).
